Q: What’s a gender nihilist?
A: If nilishm is the belief that life is meaningless - do with it what you will, live life absurdly - then gender nihilism rejects the principles our current binary system entails and thrives on. Gender nihilism is about tipping the scale in favor of a world where gender categorizations, if not completely destroyed, are transformed. What kind of transformation(s) does this gender nihilist propose? Well, our education system, healthcare system and even our social circuits would be less rooted in how one identifies, in terms of gender and more about their individual expression(s) and desire(s). I, as a gender nihilist, like to absurdly shout: “Do away with gender!” not to ruffle feathers, but to shake the very ground foundations of oppression rest on. I just want people's perspectives to shift. Who holds your liberation in the palm of their hand? For me, I remove the distinction(s), erase the where the lines have been arbitrarily marked, and grab hold of my liberation, my agency, and my magic.
